Local riders will lead several different group rides throughout the weekend. The rides on Friday night will be night rides so remember to bring your lights. Group rides on Saturday will be for all skill levels including women’s specific rides.
The Funduro is a self-paced endure-style event. This event will include Strava-timed segments, stop-watch races, and a maybe a few surprises. It will feature not only downhill, but some uphill sections as well. Completion of certain segments will count toward the scavenger hunt. Details will be released at the last minute so that no one takes it too seriously.
The Scavenger Hunt will showcase cycling and culture in Calhoun County. A scavenger hunt list will be provided on Friday. There will be many things to do and places to go see. Points will be assigned to each activity. There will be different requirements to prove you did the things, some of which will be posting on social media with specific hashtags. You will redeem your “points” for raffle tickets.
Our time trial will feature the new NICA style trails at Ft. McClellan. This cross-country style course is ~6 miles long. To participate in the time trial, just show up at the trail head between 9:00 pm and 11:00 am on Saturday. No shuttle will be provided but directions will be made available for the short trip to the trailhead. You will be competing for raffle tickets.
